Anson was born in 1918, son of Leonard and Elizabeth Moore of Shedden, Ontario, Canada, and brother of Alice, Lillian and Mignon. According to family sources Anson enlisted in the army on 8 January, 1940 and was sent overseas 10 June, 1940. He trained in England and served in Sicily before taking part in the Italian Campaign. Anson was killed in action, in Italy, on 16 September, 1944. He is buried in the Coriano Ridge War Cemetery, Italy. Family sources give his rank as Company Sergeant Major.
