Stanley Hector Furlonger is my first cousin twice removed. He was born in Haslemere, Surrey, England the son of Stanley Herbert Furlonger, a tailor in the High Street, Haslemere. The Furlongers were Farmers, Butchers and Businessmen. Upon enlistment, at age 21, in the Australian military Stanley is shown as being a butcher. Stanley appears to have emigrated to Australia prior to WWl and stayed with realatives in Melbourne.

His attestation papers were signed on 20 Mar, 1915 and he enlisted, on 29 April, in the 24 Battalion H.Q. of the 3rd Military District. 1915.
