  In the name of God Amen ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ William Furlonger

 

I William Furlonger of Chiddingfold in the county of Surrey, Yeoman

Being sick of body but of perfect mind and memory do make and ordain

This my Last will and testament in manner and form following first

I bequeath and commend my soul into the hands of almighty God my

Maker and redeemer and my body to the earth from whence it was taken

And to be buried in the church yard of ye said parish of Chiddingfold. Item.

I give and bequeath unto John Furlonger oldest son of my oldest son

John Furlonger all that my house and lands wherein I now inhabit                                      

With the appointing to be by him the said John Furlonger the younger

Possessed and enjoyed when and so soon as he shall attain the full age of

Fifteen years and to his heirs and assigns forever which said house and lands

Are called or known by the name of Fisherlane. Item. I give unto the said

John Furlonger the younger the bed whereon I now lyeth and of all

Furniture and also the biggest drippings pan in the house with a chest

And a warming pan. Item. I give and bequeath unto William Furlonger a

Second farm of my first son John Furlonger all that my land which I

Lately bought of Nicholas Chalk called or known by the name of Tuggly with the

Appointment to be by him the said William Furlonger fully possessed when

And so soon as he shall attain the full age of fifteen years and to

His heirs and assigns forever with also a bed and his small furniture

A brass kettle a flagon and a chest. Item. I give and bequeath unto Thomas

Furlonger third son of my said son John Furlonger one hundred pounds of

Lawful money of England to be paid to his only use within two years

After my decease with also a chest and an iron kettle. Item. I give and

Bequeath unto the two daughters of my said son John Furlonger namely

Margaret and Susan five pounds apiece to be paid them or to their

Use within six months after my decease. Item. I give and bequeath to my

Sister's children namely John, Elizabeth and Joan Constable five pounds

To be divided amongst them that is to say to Elizabeth forty shillings

And the other three pounds to be equally divided between the said John

And Joan to be paid them within six months after my decease. Item.

I give to every one of my God children twelve pence to be paid them

Within the terms aforesaid and will and desire it that all the said

Legacies be raised out of the said lands according as it shall rise by the

Rent thereof. Item. I do make and ordain my beloved and only son

John Furlonger my full and whole executor to whom my debts being

Paid and my funeral expense discharged. I give and bequeath all and

Singular the rest of my estate not being herein mentioned of what

Kind and nature for use and I constitute and appoint Walter Sherlock

And John Brinnall of the said parish of Chiddingfold overseers and

I give and allow to both of them twelve pence for every day they shall

Be employed about. This my last will and testament as being my decease

For the true performance thereof and I utterly revoke and dismiss all former wills

Whatsoever. In witness whereof I have hereto set my hand and seal this eighteenth

Day of March in the year of our lord one thousand six hundred fifty and two.

This Will was proved at Westminster the fifth day of September in the

Year of our lord 1653 before the judges for probate of wills and granting of

Administration lawfully authorized by the oath of John Furlonger the son and

Executor named in the last will to whom administration was committed of all and

Singular the good chattels and debts of the said deceased he being first sworn

By virtue of a special commission well and truly to administer the same.
